A Marine Weather Statement has been issued for the following areas...
  Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Maurepas...

At 1212 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a cluster of strong
thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. This
cluster of thunderstorms is generally located along a line extending
from near Lake Maurepas to Orleans Marina, moving north at 35 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect widespread gusty winds to around 30 knots, higher
waves, and dangerous lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe
harbor immediately until this activity passes.

This a cluster of strong thunderstorms will likely produce winds to
around 30 knots, and could pose a serious hazard for boaters. A
special marine warning may eventually be required when this activity
reaches the nearshore waters. Boaters should consider heading for
shore before these storms arrive.
