Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
1233 AM CDT Wed Jul 2 2025

Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected
again this afternoon, with the best chance during the late
morning through the afternoon hours. Outside of rain RH values
will remain elevated today with minimum RH values 55 to
65 percent and winds will generally be light. Seabreeze and
lakebreeze boundaries will be possible near coastal areas,
allowing for wind shifts to follow. Slightly drier air will
arrive late tonight and Thursday, remaining in place for at least
the first half of the holiday weekend. Minimum RH values will
decrease to between 40 and 50 percent from Thursday through
Saturday. For Southwest Mississippi, patchy light fog is possible
around sunrise this morning. Fog formation is most likely to
occur after 5 am and the fog should clear by 8 am.
