Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
1128 PM CST Wed Nov 19 2025

.DISCUSSION...

A bit more unsettled weather pattern will develop over the area
as a series of fast moving low pressure systems and trailing
fronts slide through the region. Ahead of the first system moving
through on Friday, continued southerly winds will keep humidity
values high and a threat of widespread moderate to dense fog in
place for tonight into tomorrow morning. By Thursday night and
Friday, stronger southerly winds and higher rain chances can be
expected as a weak front stalls over the region and dissipates.
High pressure will build in for the weekend, and the fog threat
will return to much of the region as humidity values remain
elevated. Early next week, another fast moving low pressure
system will once again bring higher rain chances back to the area
from late Monday into Tuesday. The front is expected to stall
along the coast and keep a low threat of rain in the forecast
through Wednesday.
