Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
341 PM CDT Sun Mar 9 2025

.DISCUSSION...

A cold front is passing through the area this evening. Breezy
conditions will develop behind the front tonight into tomorrow.
Dry air filters in for the first half of the week with minimum
humidity values falling to 30 to 35 percent Monday and 25 to 30
percent Tuesday afternoon during peak mixing. Moisture levels
should then moderate for the second half of the week as winds
turn southerly and Gulf moisture begins to feed in. Fog
concerns should also increase in the second half of the week.
A strong storm system will bring another chance of rain to the
area on Saturday.
