Fire Weather Planning Forecast for S MS and SE LA
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
1226 PM CDT Sat Oct 11 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Drier air from the wake of a frontal boundary passage still hangs
on into the area, bringing lower humidity values and keeping rain
chances away for the next 5 to 7 days. This weekend will see
another surge of drier air slide in and this will lead to minimum
RH values falling to between 35 and 45 percent each day through
the end of next week. Winds will remain somewhat gusty from the
north at around 10 to 15 mph today, but as high pressure takes
over this weekend winds will drop to around 5 mph through Monday.
A reinforcing front on Tuesday will push northerly winds up a bit
to between 5 and 10 mph for both Tuesday and Wednesday.
