...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 7 PM CDT TUESDAY...

* WHAT...For the Excessive Heat Warning, dangerously hot conditions
  with heat index values up to 114 expected. For the Heat Advisory,
  heat index values up to 112 expected.

* WHERE...Avoyelles, St. Landry, Lower St. Martin, Upper Iberia, and
  Upper St. Martin Parishes.

* WHEN...For the Excessive Heat Warning, from 11 AM this morning to
  7 PM CDT this evening. For the Heat Advisory, from 11 AM to 7 PM
  CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

* WHAT...For the first Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 111
  expected. For the second Heat Advisory, heat index values up to
  111 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, south central, southwest, and west
  central Louisiana and southeast Texas.

* WHEN...For the first Heat Advisory, from 11 AM this morning to 7
  PM CDT this evening. For the second Heat Advisory, from 11 AM to 7
  PM CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
