Temperatures are not expected to reach advisory criteria for any
extended period of time overnight. However, a few isolated locations
could briefly fall to 18 to 20 degrees for an hour or two late
tonight, and individuals are encouraged to maintain precautionary
measures to protect from the cold.

...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO
9 AM CST THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold temperatures between 12 and 20 degrees expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, south central, southwest, and west
  central Louisiana and southeast Texas.

* WHEN...From 6 PM this evening to 9 AM CST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
  is exposed to these temperatures. Very cold temperatures can lead
  to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and
unfrozen water.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.
