            A NWS damage survey revealed that 70 to 100
            mph wind gusts damaged 13 large transmission
            lines across rural Acadia Parish. In
            addition to these lines, number trees,
            smaller power poles, and several homes and
            outbuildings were also heavily damaged. The
            width of the damage swath was approximately
            3 miles which began just east of the
            Mermateau River, and extended to
            neighborhoods south of Eunice. Some of the
            greatest damage was large trees falling on
            homes.
