...Temperatures were well above normal and precipitation well
below normal for September in North Platte and Valentine...

For North Platte, the average daily mean temperature for the month
of September was 68.8 degrees which was 4.6 degrees above the normal
of 64.2 degrees. September 2024 will go down as the sixth warmest
September on record for North Platte. The average daily high
temperature for the month of September was 85.8 degrees which was
5.8 degrees above the normal of 80.0 degrees. The average daily low
temperature for September was 51.8 degrees which was 3.5 degrees
above the normal 48.3 degrees. One daily record high temperature was
set during the month of September. On the 28th, the high in North
Platte was 93 degrees. This broke the record high of 92 degrees set
previously 2011 and 1953.

For Valentine, the average daily mean temperature for the month of
September was 70.4 degrees which was 6.2 degrees above the normal of
64.2 degrees. September 2024 will go down as the warmest September on
record for Valentine. The average daily high temperature for September
was 87.3 degrees which was 7.5 degrees above the normal of 79.8 degrees.
The average daily low temperature for the month was 53.4 degrees
which was 4.8 degrees above the normal of 48.6 degrees. One daily
record high temperature was tied during the month of September. On
the 28th, the high in Valentine was 95 degrees. This tied the record
high of 95 degrees set also on this date in 2021.

At Lee Bird Field in North Platte, precipitation for September
totaled 0.23 inches which was 1.38 inches below the normal of 1.61
inches. September 2024 will go down as the 13th driest September on
