...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST /11 AM
MST/ TUESDAY...

* WHAT...For the Extreme Cold Warning, dangerously cold wind chills
  as low as 35 below zero expected. For the Cold Weather Advisory,
  very cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero.

* WHERE...Portions of north central Nebraska from the sandhills into
  the panhandle.

* WHEN...For the Extreme Cold Warning, from midnight CST /11 PM MST/
  tonight to noon CST /11 AM MST/ Monday. For the Cold Weather
  Advisory, until noon CST /11 AM MST/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite on exposed skin can occur in as little as 10
  minutes. Very cold temperatures and wind chills can lead to
  hypothermia with prolonged exposure. Exposed water pipes may
  freeze and rupture.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and
unfrozen water.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.
