Isolated thunderstorms are possible this evening. A few storms could become severe with large hail and damaging winds the main concerns. Later in the evening and overnight, more expansive rain and thunderstorms will possibly move southeast out of South Dakota. Damaging winds and locally heavy rainfall will be the main concerns with this activity which will favor areas across northern Nebraska and east of Highway 183. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. Isolated thunderstorms are again possible Wednesday afternoon and evening. A few storms could become severe with large hail and damaging winds the main concerns. Building heat arrives Wednesday through Friday with highs returning to the 90s and even the low 100s each day Thursday and Friday. Factoring in the humidity, heat indices will exceed 100F for portions of western Nebraska. Later forecasts may require Heat Advisories but precise locations remain somewhat uncertain at this time. More active weather arrives this weekend as a frontal boundary settles south into the area. Rain and thunderstorm chances increase beginning late Friday and continue daily through early next week.
