Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central for Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
243 PM CDT Tue Oct 14 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Though temperatures return back to above average (highs in the
middle to upper 70s) for Wednesday, increasing humidity will keep
fire concerns low. That said, winds will gust as high 30 miles
per hour from the south Wednesday afternoon.

A cold front then moves through the area on Thursday, bringing a
return of cooler highs in the 60s for late week and into the
weekend. In addition, wetting moisture will be possible across
portions of the area Thursday afternoon and evening.

Temperatures will begin to increase again early next week, and
humidity values will fall back into the 25 to 35 percent
range. This could bring a return of increasing fire concerns and
will need to be monitored.
