Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central for Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
413 AM CDT Mon Sep 30 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Very dry air from the Pacific will continue to circulate into
Nebraska during the next 7 days and little if any rainfall is
expected across the region during this time.

Critical fire weather conditions are likely today. The concern is
strong winds from the north and low humidity. Nighttime humidity
recovery will be poor at 50 percent or less in many areas but
temperatures will fall into the 30s to around 40.

Elevated fire weather conditions continue on most days Tuesday
through Sunday. Fire weather conditions may become critical Tuesday
and Saturday. The area of concern Tuesday is generally along and
west of highway 61 where strong south winds and low humidity will
coincide. The situation Saturday is more uncertain but temperatures
will be warm, humidity low, and there is the potential for strong
winds to develop.
