.SHORT TERM /THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Issued at 417 AM CDT Thu Aug 28 2025

Patchy fog will be possible this morning as light
southeast winds less than 5 mph combine with monsoonal low level
moisture. Could see some reduced visibilities down to a mile or less
at times, but don`t expect fog to be widespread, thus no headlines
have been issued.

As for temperatures, a low cloud deck will once again linger
across western and north central Nebraska through much of the
morning into early afternoon, there may be a few breaks in the
clouds later in the afternoon, allowing for some late day
sunshine. Cloud coverage during the peak heating hours will keep
temperatures cooler in the upper 70s to low 80s. A frontal
boundary will move into the area and may help to aid in
thunderstorm development as it progresses southward. Anticipate
storm development to remain mainly isolated, with low confidence
in storms sustaining themselves much past the far western
counties as it will be moving in to more stable air.

For Friday, there will be a marginal risk of severe
thunderstorms across portions of southwest Nebraska into parts of
central Nebraska. A short wave trof is expected to translate
eastward into the High Plains on Friday and should help to aid in
thunderstorm development on the higher terrain of CO/WY that
will move eastward. The environment will be marginally
sufficient to see a few strong to severe storms on Friday, CAPE
will be marginal around 1000 to 1500 J/kg for areas along and
west of HWY 83. 0 to 6 km shear will be around 30 to 35 kts.
Monsoonal moisture will continue to advect into the region an
will increase the chances for heavy rainfall.

&&

.LONG TERM /FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY/...
Issued at 417 AM CDT Thu Aug 28 2025

Another weak disturbance moves through the region on Saturday
with a continual risk for heavy rainfall Saturday into early
Sunday morning. WPC has a marginal risk for excessive rainfall
through Sunday for portions of the forecast area. Northwest
flow returns early in the week and with cooler temperatures
continuing. There will be a cold front that moves through late
Tuesday into Wednesday and will cool temperatures into the low
70s for highs on Wednesday.

.AVIATION /06Z TAFS THROUGH 06Z FRIDAY/...
Issued at 1228 AM CDT Thu Aug 28 2025

IFR and LIFR conditions will be possible the rest of the
overnight into Thursday morning as cigs drop to around 500 feet
at time across portions of southwest and western Nebraska,
including KLBF terminal. There may also be areas of patchy fog
this morning. By late morning cigs should start to lift with VFR
conditions returning for western and southwest Nebraska in the
afternoon. Winds will remain light overnight around 5 to 10 kts
or less. Then winds will shift to the southeast in the
afternoon and evening around 5 to 10 kts. There is also an
isolated chance of showers across portions of western and
