.SHORT TERM /THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT/...
Issued at 327 AM CDT Mon Aug 11 2025

An upper level trough continues to track east across the region
today, with surface high pressure building across the Plains. A cold
front tracks south from Canada today, eventually tracking through
the region tonight. Showers continue to track out of the region this
morning, and with the high pressure building in, no additional
precipitation is expected today and tonight. Temperatures will
remain cooler than seasonal this afternoon, with highs in the low
to mid 80s and overnight lows in the mid 50s to low 60s.

By Tuesday, upper level ridging begins tracking across the region,
with surface high pressure again building in the wake of the cold
front. With the frontal passage overnight Monday, temperatures
remain on the cooler side for Tuesday, with widespread highs in the
mid 80s.

.LONG TERM /WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...
Issued at 327 AM CDT Mon Aug 11 2025

With upper level ridging over the Plains, the forecast trends to a
warm and dry forecast through the end of the week. A few shortwaves
in the upper level flow will support a somewhat active surface
pattern, with a few surface systems tracking across the Dakotas.
However, these systems are expected to mostly bring a few wind
shifts and little to no rain. Ensembles to suggest a less than 20
percent chance of measurable precipitation Wednesday and Thursday
night, which is also reflected by the NBM. However, better chances
of rain return this weekend, as several more pronounced shortwaves
and surface systems bring a chance of precipitation across portions
of the region Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.
