Through 300 pm, a band of showers thunderstorms will wax and wane as they track westward northwestward at near 10 knots Florida Keys coastal waters adjacent to the Lower Keys.The stronger portions of this activity will produce wind gusts near 25 knots, bouts of heavy downpours reducing visibility, and a few cloud to surface lightning strikes. Some island communities between Big Coppitt and Big Pine Key can expect up to a quick quarter of an inch of rainfall. $$
