.NOW...
Through 900 am, widespread showers and embedded thunderstorms across
Florida Bay, the Bayside waters, the Middle and Upper Keys, central
and eastern Hawk Channel, and the central and eastern Straits of
Florida will continue to progress eastward. Individual cells for this
activity will move to the east to northeast at 15 to 20 knots.
Mariners encountering the strongest thunderstorms, along a line
extending from slightly west of Marathon Humps in the central
Straits, northeastward towards the Middle Keys and into the nearshore
waters north of the Middle and Upper Keys, can expect wind gusts up
to near 30 knots, occasional cloud to surface lightning strikes, and
blinding downpours. Island communities of the Middle and Upper Keys
can expect an additional half to one inch of rainfall with locally
rainfall amounts in excess of 1.5 to 2 inches.
