Through 100 pm, a cluster of showers and hunderstorms will push through the offshore Gulf Waters, including the Dry Tortugas. This activity will move generally to the northeast to east at 10 to 15 knots. Mariners encountering this activity can expect wind gusts of 25 to 30 knots, reduced visibilities in heavy downpours, and occasional cloud to surface lightning strikes. In addition, scattered showers over the nearshore and offshore waters surrounding the Upper Keys will continue moving to the northeast at 10 to 15 knots. Mariners encountering this activity can expect wind gusts of 20 to 25 knots, reduced visibilities in heavy downpours, and a few cloud to surface lightning strikes. Island Chain communities can expect up to a half of an inch of rainfall, mainly east of Key Largo. $$
