Through 1 pm, scattered showers with embedded thunderstorms will drift south with individual cells moving north at 5 to 10 knots through the deep Gulf waters, and the surrounding waters of the Upper and Middle Keys. The stronger activity is capable of blinding downpours, wind gusts of 25 to 30 knots, and frequent lightning strikes. Island communities from Duck Key to Key Largo can expect up to half an inch in rainfall. $$
