As of 5 pm, a strong cold front with a line of showers and potential thunderstorms is moving across the Gulf waters and approaching the Dry Tortugas. As of 5 pm, a strong cold front has entered the outer Gulf waters near the Dry Tortugas. This front is moving southeast at near 20 knots and mariners and boaters can expect a sharp freshening of northwest breezes in the wake of the frontal passage. Current marine observations show generally 5 to 10 knots. As this front moves through, expect winds of 20 to 25 knots, gusting to near 30 knots. $$
