.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1035 AM EST Fri Feb 28 2025
Another pleasant start to the day has been occurring across the
Florida Keys! KBYX radar has remained echo free from last night
into today. Temperatures along the island chain are near 70 making
it feel really nice outside. This morning`s 12z sounding revealed
significant dry air above 900 mb and less than an inch of PWAT in
the atmosphere. For today, dry conditions are expected. Clouds
are limited in the Upper Keys but visible on GOES-16 Satellite the
Lower Keys will experience some lower ceiling broken cloud
coverage for the next few hours. Wind observations along the Reef
are dropping from the overnight surge and are currently sitting at
near 10 knots. These winds are expected to continue on a downward
trend into this evening as high pressure sits in the Gulf. No
changes were necessary for this update package.
