154 FNUS53 KJKL 081006 FWFJKL Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky National Weather Service Jackson KY 506 AM EST Wed Jan 8 2025 .DISCUSSION...A combination of very cold air, widespread low level cloud cover, and moist northwest flow aloft will allow snow flurries and scattered light snow showers to persist across eastern Kentucky today and tonight. The snow should finally begin to taper off Wednesday evening and be out of the area by late evening. The snow and cold will both keep any fire fuels quite moist and making burning difficult if not impossible. After a break from the clouds and snow Thursday and Thursday night, another winter storm is expected to move through the region, and could bring impactful snowfall to the area to heading into the weekend.
