561 FNUS53 KJKL 182103 FWFJKL Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky National Weather Service Jackson KY 503 PM EDT Fri Apr 18 2025 ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING... .DISCUSSION....Afternoon relative humidity bottomed out at 20 to 30 percent for most places this afternoon. Along with this, sustained winds were around 15 mph with gusts around 30 mph, especially on ridges and over open terrain. This brought Red Flag conditions to some locations. Winds will diminish and relative humidity will increase as we head into this evening, allowing conditions to improve to non-critical levels area wide. Tonight will present a scenario very similar to last night. Relative humidity recovery will be good in eastern valleys, but poor on the ridges. Dew points and relative humidity will be higher during the day on Saturday, and winds will not be as strong. Our next likelihood of a wetting rain is on Monday afternoon and night in associated with a cold front.
