Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
549 AM EDT Thu Oct 10 2024

...Low Humidity on Friday Afternoon and Evening...

.DISCUSSION...High pressure will keep a dry airmass across the
region into the weekend. Temperatures will be near normal for
this time of year and winds should remain relatively light and
variable. Minimum afternoon relative humidities will consistently
drop to between 25 and 40 percent through the remainder of the
week for most areas, with Friday expected to be the driest day when
most locations should at least briefly drop below 30 percent during
the afternoon. Temperatures, and to a lesser degree, humidity levels will
rebound over the upcoming weekend, as a sharp, moisture- starved
cold front sweeps through the region Sunday night. This will usher
in a cold Canadian high pressure system. Confidence remains high
that we will experience the coldest air of the autumn season thus
far next week, with one or more frosts or freezes likely.
