Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
315 PM EST Wed Nov 6 2024

.DISCUSSION...A cold is gradually crossing the area but will not be
through until later Thursday evening. Showers and a few thunderstorms
leading to measurable rain are expected, with the highest forecast
probability for at least quarter of an inch of rain (60 to 90%) found
in the Cumberland and London Districts of the DBNF, with decreasing
probabilities to the southeast toward the Virginia border, where
probabilities are 10 to 30 percent. After a brief lull in rain
chances Thursday evening to Fri night when high pressure moves past,
chances for rain will return as another system crosses eastern
Kentucky to end the weekend and start the new week. That system looks
good to produce greater rainfall amounts for the region.
