Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
201 PM CDT Mon Oct 13 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Dry weather will prevail through the work week. Afternoon minimum
relative humidity values will range between 30 to 40 percent in
most zones. Fire danger will be non zero and have to be monitored
day to day, largely driven by winds. Winds are light and variable
today, but they may increase Tuesday to around 10 mph from the
northeast. With no appreciable rain chances during the week, fuel
moisture will continue to decline but greater concerns for fire
appear limited. Dense fog is not expected but shallow patchy
ground fog can`t be ruled out around daybreak each day in low-
lying and sheltered areas, especially near river valleys. Rain and
storm chances increase this weekend, bringing potential organized
storms and wetting rain of greater than a half inch to inch of
rain totals.
