...HEAVY FREEZING SPRAY WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM EST
TUESDAY...

* WHAT...For the Small Craft Advisory, west to northwest winds
  15 to 25 knots. Waves 4 to 7 feet. For the Heavy Freezing
  Spray Warning, heavy freezing spray at a rate of 2 cm per hour
  or greater expected, and may rapidly accumulate on vessels.

* WHERE...Michigan City IN to St Joseph MI.

* WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until 5 PM EST Tuesday.
  For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, from 1 PM this afternoon
  to 5 PM EST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is
  hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic
  components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and
  superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of
  stability. Conditions will be hazardous to small craft.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Ice cover has increased along the southeast
  shore of lake Michigan. Access to ports may not be available.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on
their vessel. If possible, remain in port, avoid the warning area
or conduct mitigation.

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.
