Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
305 AM CDT Sun Apr 6 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Seasonably cool temperatures are expected through Tuesday. Light
rain chances will linger south of I-72 today. While the additional
rain will not worsen the flooding south of I-72, many area rivers
and streams will remain swollen. Winds will be northeasterly
today, with fair ventilation expected. A cold front will progress
across the area during the day Monday, resulting in a wind shift
from west-southwesterly to northwesterly. Behind the front, breezy
northwest winds could gust up to 30 mph and deeper mixing will
lead to very good ventilation. Rain chances return during the
middle of the week, with a 50-70% chance on Wed-Thurs.
