Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
206 PM CDT Thu Mar 27 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will occur through
tonight over central and southeast IL, with better chances arriving
later this evening and overnight as a warm front lifts northeast
through the area. Mostly cloudy to overcast skies outside of shower
activity will result in poor ventilation rates.

Mostly dry, warm and windy weather is expected on Friday with south
winds gusting as high as 35 to 45 mph at times. Despite dewpoints
climbing the next several days, deep mixing could drop minimum
relative humidity levels into the 30 to 40 percent range. Very good
to excellent vent rates are expected on Friday due to strong winds
and much higher mixing heights.

There is a good chance of showers and a few thunderstorms on Saturday
and Saturday night with the higher chances of thunderstorms Saturday
night. Fair vent rates are expected on Saturday with breezy south winds.
