Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
153 PM CDT Fri Apr 18 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Vent rates remain fair to good throughout the afternoon given 20
to 30 kt south-southwest transport winds and modest mixing. This
evening through Saturday, periods of showers and storms will make
burning unfavorable. Sunday, ventilation may briefly improve due
to increased southerly transport winds ahead of the next system,
but the depth of mixing will depend on any breaks in shower
activity. In addition, fuels will likely remain damp Sunday due
to tonight and tomorrow`s rains.
