Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
417 AM CDT Fri Apr 4 2025

.DISCUSSION...

A wet pattern continues through the weekend, with periods of
showers and storms likely each day. The heaviest rains are
expected this afternoon into tonight, and a flood watch is in
effect for most areas along and south of I-72/I-74 east of
Champaign.

Winds will be easterly today, then primarily northerly on
Saturday, although a lingering front may result in variable wind
direction south of I-70 early Saturday morning before turning
solidly to northerly into the day. Ventilation will be poor
today, but gradually improve from north to south over the weekend.
By early next week, below normal temperatures are expected, but
ventilation improves as breezy northwest winds and deeper mixing
develops. Mostly dry conditions are expected Mon-Tues.
