815 FNUS53 KILX 060651 FWFILX Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois National Weather Service Lincoln IL 151 AM CDT Sun Oct 6 2024 .DISCUSSION... A cold front will bring forth gusty northwest winds (20-30 mph) and critically low RH values (< 20 percent) in a few spots north of I-70 today. The net effect will be elevated fire danger and a concern for rapid fire spread with any field or brush fire that might ignite. Despite the good to very good vent rates, we do not recommend burning today. For the remainder of this week, high pressure will result in weak transport winds and generally poor vent rates, improving somewhat by Friday - Saturday.
