AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
National Weather Service Wilmington OH
136 PM EDT Tue Oct 1 2024

.SYNOPSIS...
An upper level disturbance will approach and move through the
region today into tonight. High pressure will work into the
region for Wednesday allowing for several days of dry
conditions. A cold front will move through the region on Sunday.

&&

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 7 PM THIS EVENING/...
Though some patchy fog persists, there is no evidence of dense
fog so the advisory has been allowed to expire.

Later today scattered showers and potentially isolated
thunderstorms will develop in advance of an upper level
disturbance. Highs reaching the mid 70s may allow sufficient
instability for those isolated storms. As this feature pushes
through winds will then pick up and have some wind gusts of 20
to around 30 mph late this afternoon.

&&

.SHORT TERM /7 PM THIS EVENING THROUGH 6 PM WEDNESDAY/...
Wind gusts will continue into the evening hours before
decreasing. Precipitation will push eastward tonight and high
pressure will start to work into the region. With the cooler
airmass moving into the region low temperatures tonight are
expected to be in the middle 40s to the middle 50s. CAA on
Wednesday will allow for cu development. High temperatures in
the upper 60s to lower 70s will be possible.

&&

.LONG TERM /WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY/...
High pressure will prevail for the early part of the period. A weak
cold front will slide through the region on Friday, but forcing and
moisture are limited so it should come through dry. Next high in the
wake of this front will be rather transient.

A deepening mid level trough will push a stronger cold front through
the area on Sunday. Showers will develop as this front moves
through. The high that follows will bring a little more noticeable
change in airmass.

Wednesday night will have seasonably cool temperatures. Thereafter,
temperatures will be above normal until Monday when they will back
closer to normal.

&&

.AVIATION /18Z TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...
Once lingering MVFR ceilings dissipate shortly after issuance,
VFR is expected through the forecast, except at CMH and LCK
where ceilings may drop to MVFR again late tonight. Scattered
showers forming along a cold front could reach the vicinity of
some sites early this evening, while gusts to 20 knots are
expected at DAY ILN CMH and LCK. High pressure and a dry
airmass are forecast to bring an end to showers later this
evening. Mainly clear skies and a northerly flow are indicated
for Wednesday.

OUTLOOK....Fog may reduce visibility Wednesday night to Thursday
morning.
