Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 95 mph Path Length /statute/: 3.15 miles Path Width /maximum/: 200 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 03/16/2025 Start Time: 07:25 PM EDT Start Location: 4 ENE Currie / Pender County / NC Start Lat/Lon: 34.4698 / -78.0314 End Date: 03/16/2025 End Time: 07:28 PM EDT End Location: 5 WSW St. Helena / Pender County / NC End Lat/Lon: 34.5081 / -78.0017 Survey Summary: The tornado formed just west of Herrings Chapel Rd about 4 miles east of Currie, NC. As it moved toward the north-northeast the tornado caused tree damage and damage to multiple dog kennels. The tornado then crossed Herrings Chapel Rd causing extensive tree damage in the area. The tornado then weakened as it lifted into wooded areas toward the northeast. Damage was observed again near Fennell Town Rd with houses having some roof damage, along with a few snapped and uprooted trees. The tornado dissipated north of Fennell Town Rd. && EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the following categories: EF0.....65 to 85 mph EF1.....86 to 110 mph EF2.....111 to 135 mph EF3.....136 to 165 mph EF4.....166 to 200 mph EF5.....>200 mph NOTE: The information in this statement is preliminary and subject to change pending final review of the event and publication in NWS Storm Data. $$ Pfaff
