...2025 GROWING SEASON WILL BEGIN FRIDAY MARCH 14 ACROSS
SOUTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA AND NORTHEASTERN SOUTH CAROLINA...

The growing season for southeastern North Carolina and
northeastern South Carolina will begin Friday March 14.
Coordination with local agricultural contacts indicates berry
crops will be vulnerable to frost or freezing temperatures by this
date.

Frost Advisories, Freeze Watches, and Freeze Warnings will be
issued, as needed, according to the following criteria:

...Frost Advisory...

80 percent or greater probability that scattered or widespread
frost will occur in the next 12 to 24 hours. Minimum temperatures
of 33 to 36 degrees are expected with good radiational cooling
and elevated relative humidity.

...Freeze Watch...

50 percent or greater probability that temperatures will fall to
32 degrees or lower, usually within 12 to 48 hours.

...Freeze Warning...

80 percent or greater probability that temperatures will fall to
32 degrees or lower, usually within 12 to 24 hours.
