The National Weather Service in Wilmington has extended the

  Northwestern Columbus County in southeastern North Carolina...
  Southeastern Robeson County in southeastern North Carolina...
  Southeastern Dillon County in northeastern South Carolina...
  Northwestern Horry County in northeastern South Carolina...
  Northeastern Marion County in northeastern South Carolina...

* Until 1100 PM EDT.

* At 725 PM EDT, Flash Flooding is ongoing! Emergency management
  reported in Columbus County of numerous people rescued from their
  vehicles stalled across flooded areas and roadways. Additional
  reports from Columbus County 911 continue to illustrate many roads
  remain overridden with water with many too deep to drive through.
  Between 3 and 6 inches, with isolated higher amounts, have fallen
  during the past 6 hours. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2
  inches remain possible within the warned area.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing
           flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

  Whiteville, Mullins, Chadbourn, Lake Waccamaw, Fair Bluff, Lake
  View, Cherry Grove, Clarendon, Sidney, Southeastern Community
  College, Williams, Kemper, Gapway, Redbug, Hallsboro, Brunswick,
  Nichols, Cerro Gordo and Columbus Regional Healthcare System.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dangerous flooding from heavy rainfall can be expected, especially
near poor drainage areas and other flood prone locations. It is
harder to recognize flood dangers at night, as it will be difficult
to determine the depth of the water. Roads may be damaged or washed
away. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. If flooding is observed,
then turn around, don`t drown.
