Surface high pressure remained over Kansas overnight. Temperatures
fell to just below zero in north central Kansas while the
southwest and southeast corners were in the mid teens. West to
northwest winds were light. Wind chills ranged from the single
digits in the southern portions to briefly near 10 to 15 below
zero in the far northern portions.

Today should be warmer across most of the Central Plains with
temperatures ranging from the upper teens in northeastern Kansas
and northern Missouri to the upper 30s in western Kansas. The high
pressure system will gradually shift east through the day. Minimal
cloud cover is expected. Winds will become southwesterly through
the day and have speeds of 5 to 15 mph with the highest values in
the west.

A system will move off of the Rockies this evening and tonight
which will bring chances for snow in far western Nebraska and
northeast Colorado; this will increase the cloud cover for the
rest of Nebraska and northwest corner of Kansas. Overnight
temperatures are forecast to drop to the upper single digits in
northeastern Kansas and Missouri to the lower 20s in Oklahoma and
northern Nebraska. Southwest to northwest winds will have speeds
of 5 to 20 mph with the higher values in western Nebraska.
