Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Wichita KS
327 AM CDT Sun Jul 6 2025

Scattered showers and thunderstorms persisted from the evening
into the overnight hours primarily in western, central and
northeastern Kansas. Severe storms occurred in far western Kansas
with wind gusts up to 72 mph. Many locations across Kansas stayed
dry though. Overnight temperatures fell to the mid 60s to mid
70s. Winds were light and variable outside of those tied to any
thunderstorms or decaying showers.

Lingering isolated to scattered showers and storms should continue
to gradually diminish. Daytime high temperatures are forecast to
climb to the lower 80s in central Nebraska to the mid 90s in
southeast Colorado and north central Oklahoma. Kansas will have
values in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Variable winds are
anticipated during the day with speeds of 5 to 15 mph. As a frontal boundary
stalls out, this will bring the possibility for re-development of
showers and storms this afternoon across southern Kansas into
Missouri. A strong to marginally severe storm cannot be ruled out
with the strong wind gusts up to 65 mph being the main threat
along with heavy rainfall.

Another complex of storms is expected to develop in western
Nebraska and northeastern Colorado which will track into western
Kansas during the evening into the overnight hours. These storms
could produce large hail and damaging winds. Otherwise overnight
temperatures will drop to the mid 50s in western Nebraska to the
lower 70s in eastern Kansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. Winds should
be light and variable outside of those from thunderstorms of
course.
