Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms were impacting parts of
eastern Kansas early this morning while clear conditions prevailed
over central and western Kansas. Early morning temperatures ranged
from the mid and upper 50s in northwest Kansas to the mid and
upper 70s in parts of eastern Kansas.

A cold front will bisect Kansas this afternoon. Much drier and
cooler air will overspread much of western Kansas while the front
stalls in eastern Kansas. Ahead of the front, hot and humid
weather conditions will persist with highs in the upper 90s.
Afternoon heat indices may rise into the 100 to 105 degree range
for south central and southeast Kansas.

Widely scattered storms may develop over eastern Kansas late this
afternoon and evening when a few severe storms will be possible
Lows tonight will range from the mid and upper 50s in western
Kansas to the lower 70s in southeast Kansas.
