Quiet weather prevailed over the Plains for most of the day
today, with partly to mostly cloudy skies and high temperatures in
the 80s and 90s from South Dakota to the Red River Valley. Breezy
south winds were observed in portions of Kansas and the
Panhandles of Oklahoma and Texas late this afternoon as showers
and thunderstorms began to develop across the High Plains.

Rain chances will continue to move eastward into portions of western
Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma overnight. Under mostly cloudy skies,
much of the area will see overnight low temperatures in the 60s and
low 70s. Winds will remain light and southerly.

A few showers may linger into the early morning hours on Sunday and
reach central and south central Kansas. A second round of showers
and storms will be possible during the afternoon hours. The
strongest of these may be capable of heavy rain, small hail, and
gusty winds. Afternoon high temperatures are anticipated to reach
the 70s and 80s, with some areas in the low 90s across portions of
Missouri and eastern Oklahoma.
