Cold air was deeply entrenched across the area early this morning.
Early morning temperatures ranged from near zero in western Kansas
to the teens in southeast Kansas.

Cold air will remain in place across the region today. Winds will
become light and westerly across western Kansas while breezy
northeast winds prevail in eastern Kansas. Afternoon highs will
climb into the mid and upper 20s in western Kansas while northeast
Kansas struggles to climb out of the teens.

Clouds will be on the increase late today across northwest Kansas
as the next storm system approaches. Light snow will develop
across northwest Kansas as we move through the night. Low
temperatures are expected to fall into the single digits across
northern Kansas while those near the Oklahoma state line see lows
near 10.
