A smattering of hit-or-miss showers and thunderstorms impacted
Kansas overnight, as a cold front approached slowly from the
north. Isolated strong wind gusts accompanied the strongest
activity over western Kansas. Predawn temperatures were in the
70s to near 80 degrees, with slightly cooler 60s over far
northwest Kansas.

Hit-or-miss showers and thunderstorms will impact the region this
morning, and again by late afternoon. Strong to severe
thunderstorms are possible later today. Forecast high temperatures
range from the upper 80s over northwest Kansas, to near 100
degrees over south-central Kansas. Afternoon through early evening
heat indices up to around 107 degrees will impact south-central
and southeast Kansas.

Isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms will impact Kansas this
evening and tonight, with a handful of strong to severe
thunderstorms remaining possible. Forecast low temperatures are in
the 60s and 70s, coolest over western and northwest Kansas.
