...River Statement For The Elk River at Fayetteville...

Runoff from recent rainfall is expected to cause river levels to rise
rapidly on the Elk River. Although it is not expected to reach flood
stage, some nuisance flooding of lowlands may still occur. If
additional rainfall occurs, the river could still reach Flood Stage.

The Elk River at Fayetteville.
* At 8:15 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 13.9 feet.
* Action stage is 14.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.5 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 16.5 feet
  early this afternoon.
* Impact...At 17.5 feet...Bottomland along the river begins to flood.

All persons with interests along the river should monitor the latest
forecasts, and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property from rising river levels. Additional information is
available at www.weather.gov.
