.DISCUSSION...
High pressure remains the driver behind the current weather pattern
over the region with temperatures just below season averages. A system
passing through the Great Basin Wednesday and Thursday is projected to
bring cooler, drier air to the region with stronger wind gusts along
the crests of the Sierra primarily on Wednesday. For this day, there
is a 40-50 percent probability for maximum wind gusts greater than 25
for the spot location, and a 60-70 percent for Mammoth Pool Reservoir.
Along the Sierra crest, there is a 70-80 percent probability for gusts
greater than 30 mph. For Tuesday and Wednesday night, minimum
temperatures are expected to be below freezing. While not in this
forecast, minimum RH values are currently expected 20-25% on Thursday.
