Hawaii Extended Forecast Discussion
NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD
303 AM EDT Sun Jun 30 2024

Valid 00Z Mon Jul 01 2024 - 00Z Mon Jul 08 2024

The upper low currently north of Hawaii will gradually lift to the
north and weaken going into Monday. Upper level ridging then
builds over the state going into next week, with the main surface
high centered well north of the state near 40 degrees north.
There may be a trough that approaches the state towards next
weekend based on the latest ensemble means.

No heavy rainfall events are expected over the next seven days
across the state, with mainly terrain enhanced showers expected
most days. Some drier air aloft could reach the state by late
next week, and this could reduce the coverage of showers. The
trades should generally be out of the east or ENE most days, and
at speeds of 10-20 mph with higher gusts.
