A cold front north of Hawaii today should weaken into Tuesday. A
second front will move towards the region thereafter, approaching
and stalling west of the islands by the middle of the week in
association with a deep trough and possible cutoff low west of the
state. There is a lot of uncertainty in the evolution of this,
and while there is increasing chances for heavy rainfall along
this front, guidance has trended more west, keeping heavy rainfall
still west of the main islands. Wind speeds across the entire
island chain, but especially the western islands, look moderate to
gusty later in the week and next weekend with some increased
precipitation.
