A cut off low will develop to the north of Hawaii on Wednesday and
linger for a day or two before lifting north and east by late
week/next weekend. An associated cold front will bring an uptick
in precipitation (moderate to locally heavy at times) and possibly
gusty winds into about Thursday. Still plenty of uncertainty in
the details, but the guidance has gradually been coming into
better agreement with this feature. Another trough looks to
amplify north of the region Sunday into Monday (with some timing
uncertainty) with a cold front swinging through the state and
another chance for increased precipitation.
