...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM APPROACHING THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Coastal waters from Freeport to Matagorda Ship Channel TX out 20
  NM...
  Coastal waters from High Island to Freeport TX out 20 NM...
  Galveston Bay...

At 543 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. This thunderstorm was located
over Drum Bay, or near Christmas Bay, moving southeast at 20 knots.
Winds with this storm are pushing out as a gust front ahead of any
rain.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until this storm passes.
