Gusty southerly winds will prevail throughout the day with wind gusts near 25 to 30 mph at times. Light sprinkles/rain this morning will give way to scattered rain showers by the afternoon as a frontal boundary approaches the area. An isolated storm or two could develop as well with the potential for it to become strong to severe. In spite of the rain chances, temperatures this afternoon will reach the upper 80s. Pair that with high relative humidity and we have heat index values in the mid 90s, so be sure to recommend that everyone stay hydrated. The main window for thunderstorms looks to be late tonight into early Saturday morning as the cold front pushes through Snook. Some of these storms also carry the potential to become strong to severe with damaging winds and hail being the primary hazards. There is a slight risk of severe weather (level 2 of 5) for both this afternoon and Saturday for Snook.
