.DISCUSSION...A weak cold front is advancing through area today and
is poised to reach Maui late this afternoon into this evening. The
front itself will carry clouds and scattered showers chiefly affecting
north and northwest-facing windward slopes. There is a low probability
of thunderstorms accompanying the frontal passage late today, most
likely over the terrain of Mount Haleakala. There is no expectation
that any such thunderstorms become strong or severe at this time.
Much drier conditions develop for the weekend as afternoon RH values
fall well into the 40s.

                    showers. Slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.
