National Weather Service Gray ME

....The Frost-Freeze Program for Northern New Hampshire and the
Western Maine Mountains has ended for the season...

The 2024 Frost-Freeze program for Northern NH and the Western
Maine Mountains has ended. This means that Frost or Freeze
headlines will no longer be issued for this region for the
remainder of the 2024 season.

If you still have sensitive plants outdoors, it is recommended to
follow local forecasts and take preventative actions from a frost
or freeze when temperatures are forecasted to be in the mid to
upper 30s or colder.

The Frost-Freeze program of the National Weather Service is to
warn local growers and gardeners of the potential of a damaging
frost or freeze for a given area during the climatologically
defined growing season. This allows people to take preventative
measures for plants and crops against potential damaging
temperatures.

The climatologically defined growing season is the period between
the median date of the last Spring freeze and the 75-90th
percentile of the first Fall freeze.

These are the dates in which NWS frost advisories or freeze
warnings would no longer be issued for the 2024 growing season in
NH and Western ME.

October 1: COOS County NH and the Western Maine Mountains.

October 11: Maine Foothills, Interior York, White Mountains of NH,
Connecticut River Valley in NH, Monadnock Region of NH, Lakes
Region of NH, and the Merrimack River Valley in NH.

October 21: Seacoast of NH, Coastal York, Cumberland, Androscoggin
& Kennebec counties in Maine, plus the Midcoast of Maine.
